Who’s your favorite person from the 1300’s? You can’t name anyone. You probably can’t even name 10 people from 19th century.
In a few hundred years you’ll be gone, i’ll be gone, and everyone we both know will be gone. The only thing left will be the echoes of the energy we put back into this world.
You’re stressing about money but you bring $0 into the grave with you. You’re stressing about fame, but you’ll be forgotten eventually.
the only things we keep forever are what we give away.
Everything you’re worried about is not real. 2000 kids go missing in the USA everyday. 8 Million globally every year. But you’re out here arguing about climate change.
Your life is not about you. No amount of prayer or meditation can do what helping others can do. The only way to reach enlightenment is to help others on their own path.
Quit focusing on yourself. Instead focus on how you can help your world.
This is true self improvement.

WHAT IF YOU DID WHAT YOU OUGHT
Future worry is a psyop designed keep the system running.
Career, retirement, insurance, all constraints to keep you in a predictable pattern. The system is not evil.
Like anything it is alive, at least metaphorically. And, like you, it wants to stay alive.
When something is born, it is weak and has to be protected at all costs by those who care for it.
In this case those who care about the system are those that benefit the most from it.
Slowly it morphed. Incentive structures added, policy, insurance, retirement, unions, and on, and on, and fucking on.
The system is strong, but it is also wrong. Wrong in the sense that it is not designed for the flourishing of the humans that exist within it.
Eudaimonia was what the Greeks strived for. We do not give a fuck.
Why? Because the system benefits from us being morally individualistic retards.
The incentive structures are upside down.
The defense industry allegedly created to stop war makes almost all of its money during war.
The medical system, allegedly created to keep us healthy, makes almost all of its money on the chronically ill.
The political system, allegedly created to give power to the people allows for the ascent of ego-maniacal narcissists that would sell their soul for any advancement.
It is a system that benefits individualistic people with a moral footing so lose most would fall into the abyss if they spent one day in their shoes.
Why do I say all this?
Well, because if you play into the hands of the system designed without a care for your happiness, or better, flourishing, what makes you believe you would or even should be happy.
A stable job, a mortgage, distracted by sports or social media to numb the obvious cry your soul makes when you give into being a rat.
The rat race is not about working an office job. You can be an office worker in the most monotonous job and still not be in the rat race.
The rat race is a state of mind, or rather a lack of soul. It's when one goes against ones nature so much so that the only way out it to shut off the connection to it or to break free.
Most shut it off and become NPCs. They give away their PS5 controller so they can watch others play.
Why? So, they don't have to face the judgment of actually playing.
A person on the surface may look like he is stuck in a dead end job but, actually it is supporting his main hobby of building anti-gravity propulsion tech in his garage.
He is a happy man living authentically.
Another person on the surface may look like he is free, living the life many dream of. But, actually he only lives it because other people find it cool, because it gives him status, and because it allows him to justify his life to others despite his soul being crushed on the daily.
Life is not simple.
We are beings with ancient hardware running modern software. It's not smooth.
But, we have one thing going for us. The divine spark. We actually get to play this game. We get to experience the ups and downs of life.
The trials and tribulations of taking the leap of faith, of failing, of falling in love, of winning.
The only way to experience this full is to fully go in. To live life on the edge. To authentically express YOU.
The way your mother deep in her soul would want you to show up in the world.
Remember... It's all a scam and everyone is coping. You are coping. I am coping. That's a scam, this is a scam.
At the end you live with yourself 24/7 from the day you're born till the day you die. To you, you are it.
Ask yourself if you'd rather be poor than rich if that means your soul being satisfied. If the answer is no you have a lot of soul searching to do.
The only thing that matters to you is YOU.
How you have the most positive impact on everyone and everything you love is by allowing yourself to flourish.
By exploring the depth and mystery of being you. By maximally becoming uniquely you. Not by being a replaceable cog in someone else’s machine. You are meant for greatness, in the deepest sense of the word.
Like Naval says, specialization is for insects.
