VRILL INSIGHTS
ARISTOTELIAN ENTELECHY
I used to be such a cunt. At 15 I already assumed I was smarter than most of my teachers. At 17 I was allowed to vote in next years election.
The people tasked with shepherding my nation are dumber than me. A retarded 17 year old. In what world is that possible.
I started looking down on people. Why are you focused on stupid shit. Why do you care about that? Why do you think that teacher hates you? She literally has no idea of who you are.
At 18 I had my first awakening or whatever. Basically I allowed the insight that I am an autonomous human and thus bear true responsibility for my actions to wash over me. Profound right? Well, to me it was.
First order of business. Remove the narcissistic tendency. Kill off degeneracy. Be good, or at least aim at what is good.
All alone on this seemingly rare journey I ventured. At the time I swapped 4h of gaming (Counter Strike if you were wondering) to 4h of podcasts daily. Mainly JRE and the podcasts downstream from his.
I fell into the productivity, health and moral philosophy hole that was dominating the masculine self-help sphere at the time.
Jordan B. Peterson, Jocko Willink, Atomic Habits, Goggins, Tim Ferris, Cal Newport, Greg McKeown, and eventually Huberman.
I had reprogrammed my entire mind and spirit by adding new software and shoving the legacy software under the rug. Stoicism masquerading as emotional stability, or something.
I basically thought the legacy software was corrupt down to the core. And that legacy software was me, so I guess you can figure out how I truly felt about my self at the time. Even if it was unconsciously.
Because of my fundamental corruption to the core, the new software was anything that was opposite to my idea of what I used to be.
I went from looking down on people to basically only seeing the potential they had and the plethora of justification for why they were the way the are.
Me? No, I had to be completely perfect according to my definition of perfect otherwise I couldn't justify my existence. I was a failure in the eyes of "God". Speed of perceived self-improvement replaced God.
What a way to live lol.
We are all fucked up in our own right. For most of us today, most of it is self-inflicted, to no fault of our own.
But there is one solution that trumps all. It is the thing I rarely hear people talk about. A thing that I've maybe heard a handful of times during my literal 10,000h of consumed content in the self-development space.
It's love. Wait what? Shut up...
Sorry, let me be more specific.
The greeks hold a lot of wisdom. There's this concept I was just made aware of (literally 20 min ago). It's called Aristotelian Entelechy. Strange words. Must have something to do with Aristotle.
You are what you repeatedly do, excellence, therefore is an act, not a habit. Aristotle said that. I hold onto random quotes and use them as mantras sometimes. Anyway...
Aristotelian Entelechy describes the actualization of ones potential. Which in other term means you live in full alignment to your nature and thus blossom into what you could become (maximally positive).
Now what does this have to do with being fucked up? Well, love. The solution, remember?
To actually reach Aristotelian Entelechy (don't know if that grammatically works) you first have to see the potential contained within you.
And since we are all fucked up, and for good reason (modernity is cooked), we have a difficult time seeing it in ourselves.
So, who sees it? Your mother perhaps. But it's your mother. You wont trust that enough to let go of your own view of yourself.
The only person that can make the granite in the sculpture that is you transparent so that you can see what is beneath is your soulmate.
Maybe not soulmate but any romantic relationship should slowly allow for Aristotelian Entelechy to emerge in both.
Your woman should make you better, not in some objective sense, in a spiritual sense. She should open the door to true integration. As should you for her.
A true partner sees your potential, believes in it, and holds you accountable to that ideal.
As you act in alignment to that ideal you slowly start to gather evidence that you could actually become what she sees in you.
The ugly granite structure slowly turns to glass (again no idea if this is logically correct) and you start to see what you could become if you chipped a little everyday.
If your relationship is not like this, get out.
And only start relationships on the premise that you both are aware of Aristotelian Entelechy.
But also, don't overthink it. Retardmaxx that shit baby.
Zero edits.
Love you, [meaning I see the potential contained within you and hold you accountable to that] just kidding frontal lobe smashed... bye.
