VRILL INSIGHTS
ROT AWAY OR BE HUMAN
Pewdiepie is one of the most famous people on earth.
He could be doing anything.
A few days ago he released Odysseus, a personal AI workstation.
He'd already built a $25,000 home supercomputer for himself. All to run powerful AI models locally.
He built because he wanted to run powerful AI models privately, without feeding data to the big companies.
Odysseus is him trying to give other people the same thing without the price tag.
He built it because he felt like it.
This is not an ad btw. I don't care if you use it. You probably shouldn't unless your a IT security nerd.
Pewdiepie became one of the most famous and wealthy people on the internet.
At that level the machine pulls hard. More content. More collabs. More brand deals. More algorithm. The incentive to keep feeding it never stops.
He walked away.
He started a family. Moved to Japan. Now he hangs out with his son, takes care of his body, and hobbymaxxes. Not for views. Not for money. Because he wants to.
That is an almost unreasonable thing to do when you are that famous.
Yeah. He's rich. It's easier for him.
Now tell me how many hours you spent on Instagram last month. How many Reels you watched and don't remember. How many hours dissolved into nothing.
Add it up over a year.
That's enough time to build your own AI workspace. Start a business. Write a book. Learn a language. Get good at something that will matter to you in ten years.
People just do things. Someone decides to start a mushroom farm in their basement. No business plan. No audience. Just curiosity and a few bags of substrate. Six months later they know more about mycology than most scientists.
That's what humans do when they have time and permission. Almost every single one of your ancestors never had either.
They didn't have free evenings. They didn't have weekends. They didn't have the option to just decide to learn something or go somewhere or build something for the joy of it.
Life was survival. It was hard and short and most of it was not yours to choose.
They worked themselves into the ground so that you could have what they never did.
And what are we doing with it?
We are handing our attention, our motivation, our emotions, our time and our souls to big tech.
In exchange for what? Numbing the idea of boredoom. You don't even know what boredom is yet you are running away from it.
You don't even know what boredom is.
Real boredom. The kind with no exit. No phone, no screen, no stimulation. Just you and the silence and the discomfort of having nothing to distract you from yourself.
Most in my generation have never experienced it.
And yet you are running from it every waking hour. Filling every gap. Every commute, every meal, every moment between moments... ...immediately filled. Not with rest. Not with thought. With content.
Boredom is not the enemy. It is the doorway.
The ideas you are waiting for live on the other side of it. The clarity you are looking for. The thing you actually want to do with your life. None of it can reach you while you are sedated.
Your ancestors were bored constantly. They built cathedrals.
Pewdiepie had every reason to keep feeding the machine. The algorithm. The brand deals. The audience that would have taken whatever he gave them.
He chose his son. His body. A workstation he built because it interested him.
Nobody is coming to tell you that you're allowed to do the same.
The free time your ancestors bled for is sitting in your hands right now. Every evening. Every weekend. Every moment between moments you've been filling with nothing.
You don't need permission. You don't need money. You don't need a plan.
You just need to decide.
Rot away or be human and live.
